Ploughing Associations and Societies affiliated to the Scottish Ploughing Championships can nominate a promising and keen young plougher resident (minimum 2 years) in Scotland, aged between 14 and 25, to the Executive Committee, by 30th November 2016, for inclusion in the 2017 Junior Development Programme. One young plougher from each of the 5 areas (Area 1 – Thurso to Inverness; 2 – Inverness to South Grampian; 3 – Tayside, Fife and Stirling; 4 – Borders and 5 – Ayrshire and Dumfries & Galloway) will be selected by the Executive Committee to receive travel costs, up to a maximum of £250, based on mileage, to compete at the 2017 Scottish Ploughing Championships. In addition, an experienced plougher in their area will be appointed as a mentor. Juniors selected for the programme will only be able to participate for one year, should not have competed previously in an Open Class at the Scottish Ploughing Championships and must be a member of the SPC to compete at the Scottish Ploughing Championships.
Application forms were sent out to all affiliated societies in September. Copy below.
