2022 Classes and Rules

Updates from AGM

  • In addition to the usual classes a Modern Classic conventional class will be introduced this year.  Tractors and mounted ploughs – all qualifying models, frames and bodies to have been in production before 31st December 1992.   Plough bodies to be designed for plough at time of manufacture.  No hydraulic attachments.  Minimum Depth 7″ (17.8 cm).  Skimmers must be used.
  • All classes will be judged under World Ploughing rules with four judges per class – two at each end – as far as possible.
  • The Multi Furrow Reversible and Classic Reversible classes will have a single furrow opening on both days.
  • The meeting to appoint Judges and Stewards is on 5th June 2022 (amended from date announced at AGM due to unavailability of meeting room on original date)
  • Judges and Stewards Training Day – 31st July 2022 in the Angus area – watch out for more info.
  • Scotland is hosting the Five Nations Challenge alongside the Scottish Ploughing Championships.  Information will be sent to national contacts.
